Magaly counsels employers and employees on various immigrant and non-immigrant processes. She also assists clients in obtaining permanent residence, with a particular emphasis on PERM labor certification applications. She enjoys working closely with clients to understand their objectives and provide a clear strategy to help accomplish them. Her personal journey as an immigrant gives her the legal expertise, compassion, and dedication to address the concerns of every client and provide them with the highest quality of legal representation.
Magaly’s interest in immigration law stems from her own personal experience. Originally from Peru, she heard and witnessed injustice carried out against the most poor and unprivileged people. She came to the United States at a young age and experienced firsthand the anxiety associated with the immigration process. After many years of waiting and filing applications, she became a United States citizen prior to starting her legal studies. This experience helped her develop a passion for the legal justice system and furthered her interest in immigration and naturalization law.
Magaly earned her Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School and was admitted to practice law in Massachusetts. She has experience in both family and employment immigration processes. She represented clients in immigration removal proceedings before the Executive Office of Immigration Review as part of the Suffolk Law School clinical program. She also represented clients in contested divorce proceedings before the Suffolk Family and Probate Court in her clinical work. Prior to joining Clark Lau LLC, she was an immigration attorney in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she assisted clients with family- and employment-based petitions and permanent residence applications including consular visa applications.
Magaly shares in the firm’s vision of providing prompt and effective solutions to the needs of every client. Her practice focuses on nonimmigrant work-related visas, PERM applications, and immigrant petitions. When she is not practicing law, Magaly is active with her church worship team, enjoys being outdoors, and she is always on the lookout for good food.
